Eeek!

Sorry it's been awhile again, I used to be really good at this, but I'm slacking! To update, we've moved ... again. We moved late September and we remembered why we don't like moving. I had high hopes of being on track with keeping the place tidy and getting on a regular cleaning/laundry, etc. schedule. ... ... .... ... pardon my silence, I was laughing hysterically. Yeah, the more I want a schedule and a clean house the farther it gets from being achieved. I really don't know why?? I know I can't blame it all on the two dirt devils I live with, so I just say to myself, "SOMEDAY". Well, Squeeker is growing right up. He loves to dance, read books, sing songs, read books, color, watch Toy Story, read books, slide down the slide aunt Niki brought over for him to play with, say things that make us laugh, do things that make us laugh, dance and of course, read books. His favorite right now is this book I got years ago called "Dusty Locks and the Three Bears". It's a southern twist to the Goldie Locks and the Three Bears story. Purdy darn cute story ifn y'ask me. I've got several "good habit" goals I'm trying to accomplish right now, I've been getting up with enough time to exercise in the mornings, between this week and last week I've been good at averaging 4 X a week. Not bad compared to what I had been doing: O. The time change seemed to help me out a little, but it's still a mind-over-matter thing for me. I just bought a new DVD and so I'm very sore from my workout Tuesday morning. Silly me did it again last night thinking it would help my muscles - ha! Yeah, I'm pretty sore again today. But I did have a nice bubble bath last night and I slept like a log! So nice! This morning, Squeeker woke up a little after 6, so I laid him down with Sky and then he said, "Mommy lay by me?" and I thought that was the best idea for an exercise that I'd heard of. So I had a "personal" exercise this morning, not so much a physical one :) This is all part of my main "good habit" goal of thinking positive and changing my attitude. I've been so negative lately, it's not good! Judge me how you will, but I found the Christmas songs station on the radio on the way home from work today and I don't think I've ever come home happier!! I'll try to be better at updating, and I'm hoping to get some family pictures in here at some point. I found the best place and I think the snow would compliment it, so I'm actually okay with it snowing this weekend. Well, since Halloween is now over, I'll go ahead and post the pictures we took for the month of October. I hemmed and hawed up until the night before Halloween, trying to decide if Squeek would even enjoy himself. I finally decided to go ahead and do something for him, he seems to love Toy Story so much that I just went to Walmart and bought some of that crafty foam paper and we glued (then stapled) the pieces on. I don't recommend "foam glue" - you'd think it would work on foam, but not so much! Here are some pictures I've collected from last month - enjoy!

Not a baby anymore : ( *sniff* *sniff*

My baby isn't a baby anymore :( Forgive me while I shed a few tears... It's so much fun watching him learn and accomplish so many things! He is so articulate for his age (according to ... everyone ...) he's also so much like his dad. As you can see in the first photo, he is glued to the TV now. I loved this shot because of the random Cheerio on his head! Ha! These next two pictures are of Squeek getting ready to go on a ride like daddy. He's got his "Helmet" and "Goves" which are all he needs to get ready to go! And last but not least, is a slide of some pictures I took this evening while I was making dinner. His latest accomplishment is stacking anything (and everything) he can find!

Directionally Challenged

It's been forever since I blogged, I'm terrible at this. I would say I need to do more to have things to post about, but we really have done quite a lot this summer, it's been fun! To pick up where I left off, we had fun going on an adventure the weekend of July 4th to Albion, Idaho. For the last 3 years or so we've driven past this little inn and I always wanted to go stay there some time. Skylar called to see what the rates were, and it was like $60 a night, I thought that was a pretty sweet deal, so we went out there for the weekend. Squeeker doesn't travel well. He gets bored in the car and doesn't sleep in anything that's not his bed, so it was an interesting night! We went for a scenic drive later on and then ate at lunch the Sage Mountain Grill. Later on we watched fireworks - Carson got to play with his first sparkler. He loved it! Toward the end of July Squeek and I went to Salt Lake with some of my family. The drive down was strenuous, I was driving by myself, through rush hour and construction. Thank goodness there were semi's and trailers with 4-wheelers and dirtbikes on them! It at least kept his attention for awhile. I thought for sure he'd sleep good that night, but no. My poor sister (bless her heart for sharing her king bed) had to put up with a little face in hers every 5 minutes saying "Doolie? Doolie?" and then when we thought he was going to quiet down we hear this little voice singing "Doooooolieeeee, doolie-doolie-doooooliieeee" he was singing to her. I could hear her trying to giggle quietly, she thought it was so sweet! The next morning we went to Hogle Zoo. Squeeker loved seeing all the animals that we read about in his books. He kept saying "Rhino" so much that Grama & Aunt Julie broke down and bought him a cute little stuffed animal rhino. I think it's the first time he fell asleep in his stroller. We also hit up the Clark Planetarium - he loved the big moon in the middle of the foyer. He also got to play in the water place at the Gateway. I thought for sure he would get shot in the face by all the spurting water, but he managed to avoid it somehow! He slept the entire drive home (good for me!) actually, he woke up once in Brigham and said "moon?" and then fell right back to sleep. The kid cracks me up. Squeek's had fun hanging out with Sky, Sky goes back to school in a week, so Squeeker will probably go through some 'nee-nee' withdrawals. He'll run out to the garage every chance he gets and picks up his daddy's tools and starts going to work on a motorcycle (sigh). He's going to nursery now, he usually does pretty good, but where we were gone last week for a farewell, he got thrown out of his groove. He's a sweetheart, though, and talking non-stop! He'll repeat words from a conversation and I've even carried a conversation with him! It's amazing. Oh, and today he chewed gum for almost an hour and didn't even swallow it! My boy's growing up!We're looking into buying a house. We'll see how it goes, I'm still a little nervous about the finances (that's another word Squeek says: finance). But we've been praying about it and have felt good so far. If nothing else, it's been a good experience : )

Fun in the Sun!

WOW! Summer is FINALLY here!! Sky's cousin and her hubby (aka: Brandrew) came down for the weekend. We took them up the canyon and over to the lake. We had such a blast with them (I hope they can forgive our messy house!) AND ... because I made time for myself, I just spent the last 2 1/2 hours hobby-ing. So here are my photos for your entertainment.

Catching up is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do...

I know it's been FOREVER since I blogged. I really need to get better at keeping up on this thing! I feel ashamed... Well, Squeek is growing right up. He walks, talks and slobbers up a storm! It's nice that he can communicate but it's SOOOO frustrating when he gets mad and frustrated because we don't want him to have something (screwdrivers, pens, colored pencils, markers, chapstick...). We'll work through it though ... right??? He's still as sweet as ever! For Mother's Day I wanted to take some cute updated photos of him, since the last 'pro' ones we got were when he was 4 mos old (again, I'm a bad mother and feel ashamed). But these ones we took with our own camera. Here are a few of my fav's: Now for Memorial Day my family went up to Boise to visit Great Grama D. It was fun seeing cousins we hadn't seen in a long time. We stayed with Sky's sister and her family, Squeek had fun playing with his cousins too. We all joined up later to go swimming. It took Squeek a little while to 'warm up', but he began enjoying it. Everyone got together and we had a sing-a-long with "Uncle Denny" (that's what my cousins all call my dad). Squeek ate his first icecream cone. Loved it. Ate the whole thing. Walked over to give his Grama a squeeze and got cookies-n-cream all over her khaki pants (sorry mom!!). Here are some random pix of our trip. I'll try to do better at keeping up!!!
