Fun in the Sun!

WOW! Summer is FINALLY here!! Sky's cousin and her hubby (aka: Brandrew) came down for the weekend. We took them up the canyon and over to the lake. We had such a blast with them (I hope they can forgive our messy house!) AND ... because I made time for myself, I just spent the last 2 1/2 hours hobby-ing. So here are my photos for your entertainment.

Catching up is fun to do, fun to do, fun to do...

I know it's been FOREVER since I blogged. I really need to get better at keeping up on this thing! I feel ashamed... Well, Squeek is growing right up. He walks, talks and slobbers up a storm! It's nice that he can communicate but it's SOOOO frustrating when he gets mad and frustrated because we don't want him to have something (screwdrivers, pens, colored pencils, markers, chapstick...). We'll work through it though ... right??? He's still as sweet as ever! For Mother's Day I wanted to take some cute updated photos of him, since the last 'pro' ones we got were when he was 4 mos old (again, I'm a bad mother and feel ashamed). But these ones we took with our own camera. Here are a few of my fav's: Now for Memorial Day my family went up to Boise to visit Great Grama D. It was fun seeing cousins we hadn't seen in a long time. We stayed with Sky's sister and her family, Squeek had fun playing with his cousins too. We all joined up later to go swimming. It took Squeek a little while to 'warm up', but he began enjoying it. Everyone got together and we had a sing-a-long with "Uncle Denny" (that's what my cousins all call my dad). Squeek ate his first icecream cone. Loved it. Ate the whole thing. Walked over to give his Grama a squeeze and got cookies-n-cream all over her khaki pants (sorry mom!!). Here are some random pix of our trip. I'll try to do better at keeping up!!!

Hmmmm

I really don't have much to say, so I'll just throw a few pictures on here :) Sky stuck Squeeker in his toy box and thought he was a good parent for giving his son adversity to work through on his own. Every now and then I need to remind him ever so softly that our son is still a baby :) I have to give Squeek kudos for making the best of it though, he enjoyed a little light reading until mommy saved the day. For Valentine's Day I had wanted to find a stuffed animal for Squeeker, a gal I work with said she had a HUGE teddy bear from a former boyfriend of her daughters that she was going to just give to DI, so she brought it to work and sent it home with me. Squeeker has fun playing 'Squish' and wrestling it!

This is my loverly bruise from the blood I tried to donate. It spread all the way to the back side of my arm, both the bottom part of my elbow and up toward my shoulder - it was pretty bad! Sky asked if he could forbid me to donate anymore, but I told him it's all in the person taking the blood, because last time was a piece of cake - I didn't even really have a mark that time!

-.P.-.A.-.R.-.T.-.Y.-

Sorry, I'm just getting around to blogging. It's been a crazy last few days between work, Squeek's b-day and Squeek and I being sick (eye colds - YUCK!).

I have to wonder why parents go through the craziness of planning birthday parties for their kids. There's all the hussle and bussle to clean the house, decorate for the party, and don't forget the cake! Then there's a period of about 30-45 minutes of sheer chaos between trying to talk over the kids playing and the baby crying, not to mention you realize you're the host of the party and yes, thankfully people will offer to help, but YOU'RE the one in-charge of grabbing the ice cream and dishing out the cake! Whew! So after all the stress and craziness I laugh at myself when I start thinking about what kind of cake/party to do next year :)
Lucky for me Sky was waaaaay into Squeeker's cake, so it was one less thing to worry about. I just had to draw the line a little when I felt he was userping my mother-ness, so I got to add the hay bales :)
We decided to do a dirtbike theme for Squeek's b-day because the other night we were talking and Sky said "motorcycle". Well, Squeek's eyes got really big and he said "Brrrm Brrrm!" we were laughing so hard! I don't know if you other parent's feel like we do, but our kid is SMART! He understands more than we give him credit for, I think. We got him a few motorcycles for his b-day and he has had so much fun playing dirtbikes with daddy. Oh, back up to that night that Squeek understood the word motorcycle - Sky was soooooo proud of his boy! That's why he was super enthused about decorating his cake. I think I've rambled long enough - enjoy some photos!

Baby Brrrm Brrrm

Squeeker is enjoying Daddy's toys more and more. Sky was working on someone's bike in the garage and had Squeek out there helping him. Check out the video. Squeek cut his first molar last week, so he now has 9 teeth! That kid is a crocodile I tell ya! Still laughing about how much he is like his daddy: interests, food - you name it! Looks like Sky has a 'mini-me'! Squeek likes pizza, fries, chicken pot pies and marshmallows. Don't worry - he eats his veggies and it's not like he eats a ton of junk -- I'm not THAT bad of a mother!!! video
